The accommodation in detail
The pool & outdoor living area
The sheltered, South-facing pool and patio area forms the heart of the home. It is enclosed on all sides, with large sliding glass doors opening to it from the two master bedrooms, and the living/dining areas. Screened to keep out unwanted insects, the area offers you complete privacy for swimming and sunbathing. There is extensive space for sunbathing (the pool catches the sun all day until early evening), plus a large area for sitting in the shade and for outside dining. The area is fully equipped with comfortable sunbeds and arm chairs, together with a large smoked glass dining table. You can cook outside using the quick and easy built-in electric Barbeque and enjoy al fresco meals with a lovely backdrop of plants and a statue. If you wish, you can adjust the lighting at night to create a special romantic atmosphere. The pool and Jacuzzi hot tub/spa are solar heated, in the summer months this gives a pool water temperature of around 90 degrees, which is very comfortable, and the hot tub can be switched over to become even hotter than this. Electric pool heating is available for the winter months (recommended October-April).
Master suite #1
You will
love this room with its dark cherry antique style furniture. Decorated in
shades of pale blue, caramel and taupe, it is a cool but welcoming retreat. The
huge King Size bed has an extremely thick comfortable mattress and is heaped with
lovely decorative pillows and a sumptuous throw. A TV and DVD player are hidden
inside the imposing armoire at the foot of the bed. Two closets
(one walk-in) provide plenty of hanging and storage space, and the large
en-suite bathroom completes the luxurious feel with its sunken corner bath and spacious
walk-in shower. There is a separate WC and bidet. You can
step out directly to the pool area from the bedroom if you wish.

Master suite #2
This suite is another unique feature of the house. It is completely private and self-contained - located just a few steps away (under cover!) across the patio from the main house. It comprises a room with Queen bed and high quality mattress, TV and DVD player, a large walk-in closet with lots of hanging/storage space, and a fully fitted en-suite bathroom with bath, shower, basin and WC. Doors from both the bathroom and the bedroom access the pool area if desired. The room is very light and airy, with a large bay window to the front. Its creamy wicker furniture is complemented by the red, cream and gray tropical print bed linen, pictures and greenery.
The living and dining room
The large Living Room is a lovely , cool, sophisticated area overlooking the golf course at the rear of the house. From the rear door you can step directly out to the garden and then onto the 16th fairway of the Golf Course. You can relax on the three comfy leather sofas, perhaps listening to music from the integral sound system, reading or playing one of the board games provided. The Dining Area has a creamy 'marble' topped dining table and six chairs. Lamps, pictures and greenery add to the atmosphere.
The Family Room
The informal Family Room is a lovely relaxing area. There are two comfortable sofas and a rocking chair, a very large TV (Cable) and CD and DVD players to provide visual and audio entertainment. We have provided a selection of CDs which you may like, or of course bring your own. DVDs are available to hire easily and cheaply at Blockbuster just before you drive into the Southern Dunes estate.
Informal dining area/Breakfast Nook
Adjacent
to the family room and the kitchen, the table and chairs look directly out onto
the pool and patio area through huge sliding glass doors. Bar stools at
the granite kitchen counter-top provide extra informal seating for breakfast and
casual meals.
Twin bedrooms
The two
twin bedrooms are furnished in a style which will appeal both to children and
adults.
There is a TV, alarm clock, ceiling fan and lots of closet space in each room.
The
twin bedrooms share an adjacent bathroom with bath, shower, basin and w.c.
A hairdryer is supplied.
Kitchen
The
well-equipped American-style kitchen overlooks the Family Room and the Breakfast
Nook, so if you are cooking you will never feel isolated from the rest of your
party. There is a full
sized hob, a built in oven and microwave, plus a dishwasher and a huge
fridge/freezer which dispenses ice and chilled water. A large walk-in
closet will store all your groceries. We hope we have included
all the equipment, utensils, crockery, glasses, pots and pans etc. that you
could possibly want - when we are at the house we often cook 'proper' meals
instead of eating out, and we think you will find it is almost as easy to do
this here as it is in your own kitchen at home.
Through from the kitchen is the separate Laundry/Utility Room, with a very large washer and drier, ironing board, cleaning tools etc.
The
Games Room/Office
This room is a real bonus! If you bring your laptop you can access your e-mails or check on your Ebay auctions in peace in this separate room well away from the rest of the living areas. The room has a computer desk and has been provided with free high speed internet access, a Playstation2, 'Boccerball', a darts board, and a selection of classic board games to suit young and old. And if you have had enough relaxation, the new-style 'recumbent' exercise bike will help you burn off some calories!
Outside
'The Palm' is located directly on the 16th Fairway, so you can step through the door at the back of the house straight out onto the golf course! This is really nice in the evening, as it catches the last of the evening sun. You can walk freely around the course if you wish, but watch out for stray golf balls!
